Education Summer Camps
The River Institute provides educational experiences that motivate, encourage and inspire young people to pursue in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) fields.
Junior Scientist Camp (Sold out for 2023)
Since 1997 the St. Lawrence River Institute of Environmental Sciences has provided local youth with the opportunity to explore nature. The Jr. Scientist Camp challenges participants to learn about science and the natural environment in a hands on, minds-on manner. This camp is offered at the River Institute for two weeks in August and is for children ages 12 to 15 who want to dive deeper into science. Participants experience environmental biology by assisting the River Institute’s scientists with their ongoing research initiatives.
Eco Friends (Sold out for 2023)
The Eco Friends Camp is a week long day camp that challenges participants to learn about science and the natural environment in a hands-on, minds-on manner. This camp is offered at Cooper Marsh Conservation Area for three exciting weeks in July and is for children ages 6-11. Activities include a combination of hiking, frog catching, pond dipping, games, crafts, scientific experiments and much more.
